Stockport named among best places to live in England in new list
Stockport has featured in another superlative list of top places to live in England.
In a new rundown produced by online magazine Muddy Stilettos, Stockport featured among the top 300 best places to live in the nation.
The magazine praised Stockport's "quaint old town" and "blossoming mix of quirky shops".
As well as a glowing write-up, the magazine includes a detailed rundown of the best places to eat, shop, and have fun around the borough.
The review continues: "[With] quirky shops, cafés and hipster hangouts, this historic market town offers the buzz of Manchester with a side of community charm. [...]
"It's just a stone's throw from Manchester - but with the landscapes of the Peak District practically on your doorstep, it's a perfect mix of city life and countryside."
Some locations which were singled out for particular mention were the Hat Museum, Strawberry Studios, The Spinning Top, Stockport Plaza, The Warren, SK1 Records, and Rare Mags.
The magazine's list was organised by area, with Stockport featuring in the 'best of the rest' category.
Although there was no Manchester category, other local locations which made the top 300 included Alderley Edge, Knutsford, and Macclesfield.
The locations were judged by the Muddy Stilettos editors, many of whom live in or nearby the areas on the list.
