A homeless charity is running a sponsored sleepout event in Stockport town centre this weekend.
Homeless charity The Wellspring is calling for supporters to join in an annual sleepout, where participants will spend the night sleeping on the street.
The event was organised with the aim of spotlighting the work the charity does, and to raise the funds that will enable their work to continue.
By signing up for the sleepout, participants will be given the opportunity to experience some small element of the many challenges homeless people face on a daily basis.
The Wellspring is an independent charity which reaches out to Stockport's vulnerable homeless community and those who are at risk of losing their homes.
A spokesperson for The Wellspring said: "[The work the Wellspring does] is so much more than finding accommodation or offering free meals. It's a chance to bring the real hope to those that are in this situation that things can change for them.
"As long as The Wellspring is here, they won't be forgotten or ignored. They will be helped and treated as people."
They provide free meals and hygiene facilities as well as health services and advice for those who need it.

The goal is for the people they reach to become independent with life skills that will guide them towards a brighter future.
The charity will be meeting at The Wellspring building - on Harvey Street, Stockport town centre - from 7.30pm on Saturday 11th November 2023.
Those taking part are advised to bring their own sleeping bags for the night and plenty of layers to protect against the autumn chill. A JustGiving site has been created for anyone collecting sponsorships.
Anyone wishing to register can fill out the form on The Wellspring website HERE.
