Stockport charity tees up for a fundraising day of golf

A Heaton Moor-based charity is fundraising with a day of golf this summer.
Supportability - a charity which supports children and adults with a range of learning and physical disabilities - will be hosting their 32nd annual Golf Day on Friday 4th July 2025 at Heaton Moor Golf Club.
With proceeds from ticket sales, participants will be helping to make a difference to people's lives in Stockport.
It can help the charity's supportees live happy, fulfilled and independent lives. Such funds also give carers the opportunity to have a break from their caring responsibilities.
In 2024, the event raised nearly £23,000 - the highest amount raised at one of these golf days to date. This year they hope to go 'on par' with this amount or more.

A team of four costs £300 and includes breakfast on arrival, a round of golf with the option to 'beat the pro', followed by a two-course meal, presentation, silent auction and raffle. There are also prizes for nearest the pin and longest drive.
You can also sponsor the event from £100 per hole.
Commenting on the event, Supportability CEO Geraint Hughes said: "Every year we are grateful to have the support of the local business community in Stockport and surrounding areas. Without their generosity, our annual golf day would not be the success it is.
"Our golf day is unique in that we ensure inclusivity so that those who benefit from our service offers are truly part of the day.
"This gives our local supporters the opportunity to meet the people that their generosity benefits, and to see the impact that their support has."
