A Stockport author is riding high in the Amazon bestseller charts with her new book on growing a business.

Lyndsey Meredith, a 42-year-old mum and entrepreneur, released her new volume AUTHORity: How to Plan, Write, Launch & Leverage a Book That Grows Your Business, in April.

Since then, it's climbed to number seven in Amazon's public relations books charts, and number 32 in the self-employment charts.

In the book, Lyndsey - who has experience in sociology, recruitment and marketing - aims to show business owners that writing a book is not only possible, it is one of the most powerful things they can do to grow their business.

Lyndsey has always loved writing, and described it as a childhood dream to become a published author one day.

She said the breakthrough moment in realising her dream came when she began reading business and personal development books, and realised they hadn't been published through traditional means.

"At that point, the idea of writing my own book resurfaced, but so did the belief that it was out of reach", Lyndsey explained.

"I assumed these authors had decades of experience and traditional publishing deals. I was wrong.

"As I looked more closely, I began to realise that many of the books I was reading had been self-published. These authors hadn't waited for permission.

"They'd decided to write a book and had made it happen themselves. That realisation changed everything."
