Stepping Hill Hospital catering team shortlisted for national award

The catering team at Stepping Hill Hospital are in the running for a national award.
They're finalists for the 'catering team of the year' accolade at the Public Sector Catering Awards.
It's some well-deserved recognition for the team, who provide quality food for both Stepping Hill's ward patients, and for staff, visitors and outpatients in its restaurant.
Their aim is to provide the kind of food you'd expect from a comforting home kitchen or a quality restaurant - not what might be described as 'hospital food'.
"They take pride in every step of the process", a Stockport NHS spokesperson said.
"From ordering high-quality fresh ingredients that are receipted each day, to preparing appetising meals, making sure the food is well presented, and that the waste is returned to the kitchen in an efficient manner, so that the next service can start again promptly."
Stockport NHS Head of Facilities Steve Whitehead added: "Our catering team work hard every day to ensure we provide high quality food for our patients, staff, volunteers and visitors. It's fantastic to see their dedication and excellence being recognised once again by the Public Sector Catering Awards."
The winners will be announced at a glamorous ceremony at the Hilton London Metropole on 24 April.
