Reddish Christmas Lights switch on | Houldsworth Square | Fri 29 November | 4-8pm (switch on at 6pm)

Friday 29 November will see a lights switch-on in Reddish, in Houldsworth Square.

Festivities run from 4-8pm, with the switch-on itself taking place at 6pm.

As well as the lights, there will be a wide range of stalls and live entertainment.

Expect carols, a brass band, dancers, food and drink, community stalls, and more.

According to the Reddish Events Page, local celebrities Jonny Senior and Jonny Junior (from Jonny's cafe) will be turning on the lights.

Edgeley festive market and fun day | Castle Street | Sat 30 November | 10.30am-2.30pm

Edgeley will host a street market and live music on Saturday 30 November.

James Barlow - who successfully auditioned for The Voice last month - comes home to play a free gig on Castle Street this Saturday 30 November, from 11.30am-12 noon.

Further still, the day will also see a festive street market, organised by Worker Bee Markets, running from 10.30am-2.30pm.

There will be more than 30 stalls purveying handmade goodies including local beers, gifts, crafts, foodie treats and handmade Festive decorations.

The event also includes family fun, face painting, free sand art activities, plus freshly-prepared International street food including Indian chaat, Asian snacks and loaded toasties.

Vernon Mill Christmas weekend | Vernon Mill third floor | Sat 30 November - Sun 1 December | 11am-4pm

A description for this event reads: "Vernon Mill Artist Studios welcomes you to a Christmas Open Weekend where the artists studios will be open on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st of December 11am - 4pm.

"There will be mulled wine and mince pies and other refreshments available and a children's art table where you young ones can make Christmas cards and decorations. Come and share some Christmas Cheer with us, everybody welcome."

Light Up Bramhall | Bramhall village centre | Sun 1 December | 11.30am-6pm

The 'Light Up Bramhall' event will of course feature a lights switch-on, as well as an artisan market, live performances, and much more.

In what promises to be a "day of festive fun for the whole community", there will be performances running all day from community groups, choirs and bands. Festivities will be centred around Bramhall village and the precinct.

And as for the artisan market - it will be organised by Worker Bee Markets, showcasing unique crafts and gifts, perfect for holiday shopping and Christmas gifts.

There will also be food and drink stalls providing seasonal treats, plus a fun fair for younger visitors.

Further still, Santa will be taking some time out of his packed schedule to set up a grotto in Village Square.

Bosden Farm Christmas Market | Bosden Farm pub car park | Sun 1 December | 10am-2pm

A description for this event reads: "Back by popular demand for a third year. Christmas Markets on Bosden Farm, showcasing local independent businesses and their brilliant products and services.

"We will also have a choir or two in attendance to help with the Christmas Spirit."
