Innovative artist set to draw unique map of Stockport on a car
By Alasdair Perry 18th Sep 2026
A new unique piece of artwork celebrating Stockport's landmarks, people and places will be created on an unexpected canvas when local artist Dave Draws brings a Honda Super N to life at Move a Mile Stockport 2026.
Visitors to the Underbanks pedestrian roundabout on Sunday 27th September will be able to watch the artwork take shape as Dave Draws creates a unique map of Stockport directly onto a white Honda Super N.
Dave will bring together some of the landmarks, locations and features that make Stockport such a recognisable place to live, work and visit, creating a piece that reflects the character of the town.
From familiar landmarks to some of Stockport's lesser known details, the finished artwork will offer a creative snapshot of the town, all brought together on four wheels.
The live drawing will form part of Move a Mile Stockport 2026, a vibrant one day community arts and culture event delivered by GRIT Studios CIC in partnership with The Coping CIC, bringing people together in the heart of Stockport to celebrate creativity, culture and community.
Dave Draws, local freelance illustrator said: "As a Stockport based artist, I'm excited to create a live piece in the creative heart of Stockport that is the Underbanks.
"Doodling on a car is something I have wanted to do for a long time and to do it live and get peoples feedback as I go, is really exciting for me. I'm looking forward to the day, doodling Stockport landmarks and to meet people that come down to the event!"
The unusual artwork has been brought to life by Honda Stockport, with the Honda Super N providing a blank canvas for Dave's interpretation of the town.
The team from Honda Stockport will also be at the event throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to see the artwork up close and chat about the project.
For Honda Stockport, the event provides an opportunity to get involved in the local community and support Stockport's creative scene, while celebrating some of the places and people that make the town unique.
Aaron Keating, Head of Business at Honda Stockport, said: "Stockport's a fantastic community and we're pleased to be part of an event that celebrates the creativity of the town. Move a Mile felt like a natural fit for us, giving us the opportunity to support a local artist while bringing something a little different to the event for people to enjoy.
We're looking forward to seeing Dave's artwork come to life on the Honda Super N and hopefully giving visitors a chance to spot some of their favourite Stockport landmarks along the way."
Visitors can see Dave Draws bring the Honda Super N to life at the Move a Mile community celebration at the Underbanks pedestrian roundabout on Sunday 27th September.
