Stockport Interchange will soon be unveiling a new mural made from 50,000 bottlecaps.

It's being put together by Plastic Shed, the same team behind the other stunning bottlecap mural opposite Stockport Air Raid Shelters.

Like the existing mural, this new installation will depict a range of local wildlife using bottletops of all colours and sizes.

This particular piece will depict a riverscape featuring local aquatic animals such as trout, kingfishers, mandarin ducks, and much more.

Every single bottle lid used in the piece was collected, donated and sorted into colours by thousands of people across Stockport. Local schools, community groups, SEND programmes, libraries, businesses, cafes and more all helped out.

Had it not been for these thousands of helpers, the lids would otherwise have been burned.

The design has been arranged onto a series of boards which are now being set in place, all in time for a grand reveal on Saturday 8 November.

Members of the public are invited to the Interchange on Saturday morning to watch the unveiling of the new artwork.
