Six people have been arrested following a police investigation into a van which was abandoned in suspicious circumstances.

The van, which was left in Heaviley, was found to be linked to two other suspicious vehicles.

All three were found to be displaying false registration plates.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has said enquiries remain ongoing.

They have encouraged anybody who was in the Mile End Lane area late on Friday 21 August 2026 to come forward.

This includes witnesses, as well as anybody with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.
