With the festive season in full swing, the Merseyway shopping centre has announced a number of Christmas events taking place over the next few weeks.

Events include a free Santa's grotto, an elf trail, festive huts, and more.

Santa's Grotto

Santa will take time out of his busy schedule to visit Stockport this year, each weekend from 2-3, 9-10, and 16-17 December.

Visitors will be able to meet Santa on a first-come-first-served basis. Given this is St Nick's first visit to Stockport for some time, those who wish to see him should arrive early to avoid disappointment!

His visits will run from 11am to 3pm on each of the aforementioned days.

'Elves on the Merseyway Shelves'

As well as visits from Santa, an elf trail will run throughout Merseyway from 11-22 December. Festive detectives are invited to come down and search for the pesky elves - stealing gift cards, hiding in shoeboxes, and more.

Festive markets

Merseyway's festive markets will continue throughout December, serving everything from Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, German sausages and delicious doughnuts, to Christmas gifts and novelty items.

Don't forget to take advantage of late-night shopping hours too, because Merseyway will be open until 7pm every day from Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 December.
