Retro train to pass through Stockport this weekend

A historic train is passing through Stockport this weekend.
The North-South Connection will be coursing through Stockport station at 11am, picking up passengers before heading on to Reading.
It will be pulled by a Class 1 HST 125, offering a rare chance to see a historic train restored to its former glory.
The train will make a one-way stock move picking up from Manchester Victoria at 10.30 AM.
Following its sojourn through Greater Manchester, it will follow the mainline towards Watford Junction, and then onto the Great Western Mainline, where it will leave its stock at Reading at 3 PM.
It makes it way down for the Welsh Dragon Fixture on Saturday 2nd May.
The service will call at:
- Manchester Victoria (PU 10:30)
- Stockport (PU 11:00)
- Stoke-on-Trent (PU 11:30)
- Hixon - Nuneaton (PU 12:10)
- Watford Junction (SD 13:20)
- Acton Canal Wharf Jn, Acton Wells Jn and Reading (SD 15:00)
Passengers can enjoy refreshments and snacks onboard, as well as a selection of merchandise.
