Work on the rail line between Hazel Grove and Davenport Stations will be taking place throughout the coming months.

In a letter sent to residents, Network Rail explained that teams will be carrying track refurbishments, including replacing existing rails in the area. This will help to extend the life of the track, lead to a safer railway, and increase the reliability of trains.

Work will be completed using an engineering train, road rail vehicles, track machines, small plant, generators, and lights. Staff and vehicles will also be accessing the track via Davenport RRAP – SK3 8SA.

Network Rail claims that because of the machinery that will be used, some noise is to be expected, but that their teams will try to keep it to a minimum where possible.
