Merseyway's pop-up store is currently hosting a second-hand school uniform shop, selling good-quality recycled items for as little as 50p each.

The store opened on Saturday (12 August), and will be open until this Saturday (19 August) whilst stocks last.

All sorts of items are available, including blazers, jumpers, PE kits.

This is not The Uniform Shop's first appearance in the Mersyway. The store was also active last year, and was such a resounding success that many people called for its return this year.

Merseyway Centre manager Victoria Nichol said: "We've received so many messages across social media urging for The Uniform Shop to return and with the continuous rise in costs for living, we would like to help as many families as possible during these difficult times.

"We were blown away by last year's response and would like to encourage as many parents as possible to send their child's grown out school uniform items our way, ready to be recycled and re-worn."

"With energy bills on the rise amongst other living costs, we wanted to help our local community by providing them with an opportunity to purchase quality, secondhand school items for a small donation.

"As food prices are also on the rise and many families are struggling, we knew it was important to put all the donated funds back into the community and, by working with Chelwood Food Bank, we know these much-needed funds will help to support local people in crisis.

"This project has been a real labour of love for the centre and wouldn't have been possible without our dedicated team who gave up hours of their time to sort through uniforms and manage the shop each day."
