Police have arrested a rape suspect who tried to evade custody by climbing onto a roof.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police were involved in a three-hour stand off with the suspect in the early hours of Tuesday morning (16 June).
The stand-off took place from around 2am at an address on Deneway, in Heaton Norris.
Police had gone there to arrest the man on suspicion of rape, breach of an harassment order and recall to prison.
When police arrived, the man climbed out of a window and spent more than three hours on the roof.
Extra resources were subsequently deployed to the scene, including a police helicopter, plus fire and ambulance services who helped bring the man down safely.
He came down around 5.30am, and was then arrested - he remains in custody for questioning.
