Plans unveiled for new Sainsbury's in Bredbury's former Homebase store

Sainsbury's has shared plans to open a new shop in Bredbury.
It would be based in in the former Homebase store on Stockport Road East.
Sainsbury's has not yet submitted plans to Stockport Council, but is seeking feedback from local residents in an online survey. The responses will help inform the plans which are submitted to the council when the time comes to do so.
The new Sainsbury's Local store would create an estimated 100 new full-time and part-time jobs, and would see £18.4m of investment in the area.
The 'Local' stores offer smaller convenience-style stores with a 'carefully curated' range of options.
Sainsbury's estimates that the new shop would be open within 12 months of receiving the green light from Stockport Council's planning committee.
The supermarket chain argues that the new store will increase choice for residents in the area, and would bring an "unbeatable combination of quality fresh food, great value, innovative products".
You can share your own views on the new store in this online survey, run by Sainsbury's.
