Plans for a new Superdrug shopfront at the Peel Centre have been approved.

It suggests that the health and beauty retailer could soon be moving into the site, which was formerly a Poundland, and, before that, a Wilko store.

The Poundland which had previously occupied the site is now closed, less than a year after opening on 30 September 2023. The preceding Wilko store had closed on 14 September 2023.

Plans so far just deal with signage and shop frontage.

At current, there are two other Superdrug stores in Stockport town centre, both of which are around the Merseyway Shopping Centre.

Superdrug confirmed in July that it had no plans to close either of the existing stores.

Superdrug is the second largest health and beauty retailer in the UK - Boots being the first.

The stores stock makeup, toiletries, perfume, accessories, health products, and more.
