Plans have been submitted for a new bar with a 'continental style' in Stockport's historic Underbanks.

Dubbed 'The Green Hen', it's based at 24 Lower Hillgate, and promises a cosy atmosphere with light background music.

The bar would be based on the ground floor, with no substantial changes proposed to any other parts of the building.

It would also offer online sales.

The proposals aim to revitalise an Underbanks building and "contribute to the vitality and evening economy of Stockport Old Town", as argued in the planning application.

Plans were submitted in August - a decision is due by early November 2026.
