A new pub is opening in Cheadle Hulme on Tuesday 21 October from 9am.

Dubbed 'The Station House', it will be opening on the site of what was formerly the Platform 5 pub and restaurant.

The pub has undergone a £1.3m refurbishment, designed to infuse it with 1930s class redolent of the golden age of the railways.

Expect ornate decor, a bar made from brass and marble, and plush leather booths. There will also be a 100-seat outdoor terrace for those sunny days.

Behind the new pub are Almond Family Pubs and Joseph Holt, who will be running the new spot in collaboration.

Almond Family Pubs runs other local favourites including the Spread Eagle in Romiley, the Jolly Sailor in Davenport, and the Puss in Boots in Offerton.

Almond Family Pubs founder Doug Almond said he was 'incredibly excited' about the new opening, and that customers can look forward to 'quality food and drink'.

"This pub will be our biggest, grandest, most opulent design scheme yet", he said. "In fact I don't know of a pub that will match it in decadence.

"In addition, guests can expect our trademark Almond Pubs welcome, service and atmosphere while you enjoy your crafted drink or delicious dinner."

Richard Kershaw, CEO of Joseph Holt added "The Almond family have a fine track record for running some very successful pubs.

"In taking over the tenancy of what will become The Station House, this is an exciting way forward for the pub.

"Bringing together two family-run businesses with shared values and local roots will be a new and dynamic chapter for this landmark pub and for our company as it continues to look for exciting opportunities now and in the future."
