Ofsted 'Outstanding' for Stockport apprenticeship provider
A Stockport-based training provider has been rated 'outstanding' in a recent Ofsted inspection.
Lite Ltd provides training for animal care, helping to train the next generation of vets and animal carers,
The inspectors found that Lite's teaching was 'exceptional', and that apprentices were, by extension, 'exceptionally well-prepared' for their future in caring for animals.
The inspectors also found that teachers had high expectations for their students, and that apprentices were 'confident' and 'resilient'.
During their four-day inspection, the team found that Lite Ltd was outstanding in five key areas: quality of education; behaviour and attitudes; personal development; leadership and management; and apprenticeships.
There were 134 apprentices at the time of the inspection, the overwhelming majority of which were studying for veterinary nursing qualifications.
Lite Ltd is based at 23 Fletcher Street in Stockport town centre. It was founded in 1985. There is also a branch in St Helens.
Head Jackie Shopland-Reed said the team was 'delighted' and 'very proud' following the result.
"The team of inspectors were very thorough. As well as spending four days in the centres, they visited training practices and spoke to many of our apprentices and employers", she said.
"It is very rewarding that the inspectors praised the high quality of the teaching and the support we provide for apprentices.
"We also received feedback that apprentices enjoy their learning and feel safe and well-supported."
