Offensive weapon and class B drugs recovered during town centre police patrol

An offensive weapon and drugs were recovered in a police patrol in Stockport town centre.
Police stopped and searched a male, finding a knuckle duster and a quantity of class B drugs. The man was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
The patrol was part of the 'Safe4Summer initiative, which involves more patrols around 'hotspot' areas in Stockport town centre and the surrounding areas.
Stockport Neighbourhood Inspector Jason Holmwood said: "This is a great result today from the team, keeping Stockport Town Centre safe. Anyone who brings drugs or weapons into our town can expect to be stopped, searched and arrested.
"Stockport Town is a fantastic place to come a visit. If you see anything that concerns you please report this to your local neighbourhood team either via 101 or through the reporting function on our website."
