A new Starbucks coffee shop opened in Stockport town centre today (Thursday 26 September).

The new branch is at the Stok Building just outside the Merseyway Shopping Centre.

Opening hours on the day are from 6.30am to 7.30pm; the first 100 customers also received a free goody bag.

Also on opening day is the 'Aroma Lab', running until 2pm. This is a tasting session, featuring different coffee blends, plus spices and sweet treats to pair with each coffee to showcase the different flavour characteristics.

A Starbucks spokesperson said that the new store will create 17 jobs.

The store will offer hot and cold drinks (including iced coffees), sandwiches, toasties, sweet and savoury snacks, and more.

According to data platform Statista, Starbucks had around 1,300 branches in the UK in 2023.

Starbucks is an American coffee company, with around 32,000 stores across 80 countries.
