New 'indie dive bar' opens in Stockport town centre

A new indie 'dive bar' has opened in Stockport town centre.
Named 'Highballer', it's based in Market Place, on the site of the former AMP venue.
It opened on Friday 28 February, and has already proved a hit with visitors.
It's been described as a "no-frills, all-vibes spot"; it features great tunes, cold beers, pool, darts, and bandeoke - that is to say, karaoke but with a live band.
There's also burgers on offer from Super Awesome Deluxe, the popular Northern Quarter eatery.
As a pop-up bar, the venue is "here for a good time, not for a long time".
