A new banking hub has been officially confirmed for Bramhall Village Square.

It will offer an in-person banking service, with different banks working at the hub in rotation:

  • Monday: Natwest
  • Tuesday: Barclays
  • Wednesday: Santander
  • Thursday: Lloyds
  • Friday: Halifax

Residents will be able to carry out regular cash transactions, as well as a community banker service where customers can speak in-person with bank representatives about more complex financial issues.

A statement from Village Square Bramhall reads: "When open, [the hub] will offer a counter service operated by the post office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions."

An opening date is set for mid-2024.

Cheadle MP Mary Robinson said: "Full steam ahead as the Village Square is confirmed as the location of our new Banking Hub! I look forward to welcoming the reinstatement of banking services to the heart of Bramhall!"

Similarly, local Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate Tom Morrison was 'thrilled' by the news, "It's a fantastic win for local people", he said. "I want to say thank you to all those who supported the Liberal Democrat campaign over the last year to bring a Banking Hub."

The confirmation of the new banking hub comes Natwest's closure of its Heald Green branch in July this year.
