A new alcohol store has opened in Heaton Moor.

Rail & Ale opened earlier this month, in one of the huts on Tatton Road South, just by Heaton Chapel station.

Purveying beers, wines, cocktails and more, it's a cosy little oasis of delicious drinks from around the world.

Whilst it's a great spot to stock up on drinks for yourself or for company, it's also handily-sited to pick up a quick tipple on the way to or from the train - indeed, there's even a dedicated 'train tipple' section in the shop.

"We've got a little bit of everything", explained Nadeem, co-owner of the business. "There's local ranges, and there's German, Belgian, and American beers too. Blondes, golden ale, pilsners, helles..."

There's certainly lots to choose from, with selections from Buxton through to Bruges. And, naturally, there's a good range of Manchester brewers on offer, too.

"We want to be an easy-going, laid back place", Nadeem added. "We're trying to cater for all visitors.

"And we're happy to take recommendations from customers - if enough people want to see something in store, we'll get it in."

Nadeem's personal favourite is the 'Mango Unchained' Shindigger, a tropical session IPA described as 'if Rubicon made a beer'. And there are some cans in stock if you fancy trying it yourself.

This little spot already has lots to offer, but there could be even further potential down the line.

Nadeem outlined plans to submit a different premises licence to introduce indoor and outdoor seating, plus a beer keg which changes by the week - it would mean customers could enjoy a drink on-site and enjoy the atmosphere.

In any case, this brilliant little beer shop is well worth a look.

You can find it at 9 Tatton Road South (the site of the former Rosemary Lane Vintage store).

You can also stay up to date with Rail & Ale on their Instagram and Facebook pages.
