The Cupped Cake, a much-loved Hazel Grove bakery, has announced that it will close its doors on 16 September.

In a post on social media, owner Kerrie said there were 'a few reasons' why the business was closing.

"For now, I need the physical break from running a business", she said. "Unfortunately, I wont be continuing to bake once closed. [...] That's not to say never again, just not at the moment!"

The store will remain open for 'casual hours' and will continue to serve customers until the 16th. However, it will no longer take orders.

Kerrie has said that visitors can expect a range of products over the remaining few days, as the bakery gets through its remaining stock.

Sharing the heartbreaking news, Kerrie said: "At the moment, I don't have much more to say, really, except a huge thank you to those who have supported the shop over the past five years! It has not gone unnoticed, and we will miss you all as much as you will miss us."

The Cupped Cake was founded in 2018 and has been a much-loved fixture on London Road/Buxton Road for the past five years.

Pop down before closure and enjoy a cake!
