Four people have been charged with murder following the death of Sadiq Al-Iami on the A34 Kingsway.

In the early hours of Tuesday 23 January, police responded to an incident that occurred at the junction near Parrs Wood, where 30-year-old Mr Al-Iami was injured.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he later died of his injuries, and a murder investigation was launched.

Two of the charged men remain in custody, whilst another two appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court today.

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson of the Greater Manchester Police Major Incident Team said: ''Our thoughts remain with Sadiq's family who continue to be supported by specially trained officers and are aware of the progress being made in this investigation."

Police added: "GMP's Major Incident Team still want to hear from anyone who believes they may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or who witnessed anything which could assist officers with their investigation by calling 101 and quoting log 166 of 23/01/2024."

Sadiq's family paid tribute earlier in the week, saying: "Sadiq's warmth and love touched the hearts of everyone that he met.

"His love and laughter were contagious, and he was always full of life. Sadiq will be greatly missed and will never be forgotten."
