A 58-year-old man has passed away following a serious collision on the M60 last Saturday (12 July).

On Saturday 12 July, around 1.40pm, police were called to a collision on the anti-clockwise side of the motorway between Stockport and Denton (junctions 25 and 24).

The man, believed to have been riding a motorcycle, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, despite the best efforts of emergency services, he passed away in hospital on Monday 14 July.

It's not believed that any other vehicle was involved in the collision.

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anybody with information or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.

In a statement released on Sunday (13 July), a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage to contact us.

"Officers also thank members of the public who stopped by the roadside to give the man initial first aid.

"Anyone with information or footage should contact us on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 1903 of 12/07/2025. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
