Stockport Blues and Roots festival returns - with local legend Norman Beaker to headline

Rumour has it that legendary blues guitarist Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil at a crossroads, in return for his guitar skills.
The crossroad of Wellington Road South and Exchange Street may be slightly less mysterious, but you can nonetheless find a similar helping of fantastic blues music there at the Spinning Top / Garrick Theatre for this year's Blues Festival.
Taking place from Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 September, it will feature over 30 acts across the weekend, split across two venues and three stages.
Headlining this year is local blues legend Norman Beaker. Inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017, Beaker has toured and recorded with many blues artists, including Jack Bruce, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Rogers, Alexis Korner, Buddy Guy, and BB King.

Other highlights for the weekend include ZZ Not (UK), Stevie Williams & The Most Wanted, Hooson Maguire, Mandy's Angels, and Ashley Sherlock.
The event starts at midday, on both days.
Prices for weekend tickets are just £28 advance from The Spinning Top Bar or £30.80 (including booking fee) from WeGotTickets.
It works out at about £1 per act!
Both day and weekend tickets are available from wegottickets.com and The Spinning Top.
