Stockport's Underbanks just got that bit cooler.

The Underbank, a new bar and margarita hall, is welcoming customers in its official opening today (Friday 30 May), following a hugely popular soft launch week.

It's based in the Syndikat building, and features not only a stylish new interior, but also an outdoor area which spills out onto the Underbanks' lovely historic streets; perfect for catching this balmy summer weather.

And that's not all. In a series of upcoming phases, The Underbank will also be opening an upstairs area, a basement, and a terrace - so there's lots more to look forward to.

And, further still, the venue also boasts an impressive sound system, ready to host an exciting range of acts; on Saturday 31 May, a range of DJs will be taking to The Underbank stage in what promises to be a full day of music and dancing.

It's all very exciting - so much so that there's a great deal of demand for this launch weekend!

For this Friday and Saturday, then, entry is on a first-come first-served basis. So - in The Underbank's own words - "arrive early and we'll see you on the dance floor".

Behind Underbank are Des and Nina O'Malley, who are also responsible for the beautiful Nook bar and cafe in Heaton Moor.

In a statement on social media, they said: "We've been overwhelmed with live and support over our soft launch. [...] Thank you to everyone!"

• Thursday - 4pm
• Friday - 8pm
• Saturday - 12pm
• Sunday - 12pm
