Fundraiser takes on Three Peaks challenge in aid of Stockport-based charity
By Alasdair Perry 25th Mar 2026
An intrepid fundraiser will be taking on an impressive walking challenge in aid of Heald Green-based charity Moya Cole Hospice (formerly St Ann's).
Chris Syddall will be taking on a gruelling 13.6 mile hike incorporating Cheshire's three highest peaks - Tegg's Nose, Shutlingsloe and Shining Tor.
The route will take in some stunning Cheshire countryside, and of course will feature some tiring climbs!
Moya Cole Hospice provides palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses.
Chris decided to fundraise for Moya Cole as he knew several people who were cared for at the hospice.
"We thought it would be nice to do something for Moya Cole Hospice, especially with the new building opening soon", he explained.
"So, if we do this walk and we raise a bit of money along with it, it will be fantastic."
He also explained that walks such as this aren't as daunting as one might think.
"It's achievable for most people as long as they're relatively fit", he said. "Anyone under the age of 16, I would say it is best to avoid it, and anyone who has health conditions, or anything like that.
"But even if you do a lot of walking, you're relatively fit, then you shouldn't have a problem."
Chris' challenge will be starting on 16 May. If you'd like to support or get involved, contact [email protected].
