Sales assistant - Smyths

Smyths is looking for a sales assistant to work for £10.80 per hour (if under 21 this will be £8 per hour) on a temporary contract. Retail experience is desirable but not essential. 

According to the job description: “As a sales assistant, you will be expected to provide a high level of customer service, help your team achieve daily targets and ensure that the store is well stocked and well presented at all times. Successful candidates will work as part of a fast-paced and dynamic team.

“Our stores are open seven days a week and we need our sales assistants to be as flexible as possible to ensure that it succeeds. Weekends are our busiest trading days so it is likely that you will be required to work on these days.”

Store assistant (days) - ASDA

ASDA is looking for a store assistant to work on a permanent part-time contract for 20 hours per week, at a pay rate of £11.11 per hour. This is a role in ASDA’s Marple store. 

According to the job description: “Our stores operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week, with that brings a wide variety of shift patterns – if you're looking for flexible working to fit around your lifestyle, then look no further! 

“We'll work with you on your shifts, but weekend working is a requirement of the role and we may need to be flexible with your work pattern.

Barista - Starbucks

Starbucks is looking for a barista to work at its Peel Centre / Portwood Court store. This is a flexible role, with no previous experience required. 

According to the job description: “This position contributes to Starbucks success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. 

“This job creates the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.”

Customer team member - Co-op

The Co-op is looking for a customer team member to work at its Heaton Moor road store, for £10.90 per hour. This role includes flexible shifts, on a permanent part-time basis, with 18 hours per week and regular overtime. Full training is provided. 

According to the job description: “What you’ll do: Friendly and thoughtful service – you’ll put customers first in everything you do.

“Responding to queries, championing Co-op products and Membership, working in our in-store bakery and doing all you can to deliver a great shopping experience.

“Engage with everyone to succeed together – you’ll build strong relationships with your colleagues in-store, working together as a team to solve problems for the benefit of customers and members and each other.

“Make sure the store is safe, legal and operational – you’ll complete daily checks to make sure the store is safe for our customers, and replenish products while checking their dates, prices and temperatures are legally compliant.

“Embrace change – you’ll help to embed change in store, embracing and supporting changes so they become a natural way of working, and sharing experiences with other colleagues to help them positively adapt to changes.

“Co-operate for a fairer world – you’ll get involved in day to day community activities like supporting our FoodShare scheme, and help your local member pioneer by taking part in local community events.”

Sales assistant (water sports) - Decathlon

Decathlon is looking for a sales assistant to work in the water sports department. The salary is £7.42-10.48 per hour, with 39 contracted hours.
