Five-day heat health alert announced for Stockport

A five-day heat health alert has been announced for Stockport and the North West by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
The yellow warning is in place from 2am today (May 22) until 5pm on 27 May.
UKHSA has warned of "significant impacts" which could include travel delays, increased demands on health care, managing medicines and even a "rise in deaths, particularly among those ages 65 and over or with health conditions".
Temperatures in Stockport are forecast to hit 27C on Monday and Tuesday.
The alert has been given a risk score of 10 which means there is a low risk of a medium impact.
