The family of a man who died in a collision on the M60 have paid tribute after he was 'taken too soon'.

58-year-old Andrew Peak was riding his motorcycle when he became involved in a collision between Denton and Stockport on the M60 on Saturday 12 July.

He was taken to hospital, but despite the best efforts of emergency services, he passed away on Monday 14th from his injuries.

His family have paid tribute, and set up a fundraiser for North West Air Ambulance which helped respond to the collision.

"Without the attendance of the emergency services and rapid response from the North West Air Ambulance, it would not have been possible to transport him to hospital for further medical care", Andrew's family said.

"The medical team at Salford Royal Critical Care Unit worked tirelessly to save his life over the following 48 hours.

"Unfortunately, Andrew's injuries were so severe that he sadly passed away on 14th July, surrounded by his family and friends.

"Andrew will be missed dearly by his family and friends, a tragic loss of man taken too soon.

"We would like to thank everyone who was involved with the care of Andrew from the roadside to the hospital.

"As a family we have decided to fundraise for the North West Air Ambulance, which operates solely on the generosity of public donations, and have set up a Just Giving page for anyone who can donate."

The Just Giving page has already raised almost £2,000 - you can donate here.

Greater Manchester Police are continuing their investigation of the incident.

They've appealed for anyone with information to come forward - this includes witness reports or dashcam footage. They've also thanked members of the public who helped Andrew at the scene with first aid.

Anyone with information should contact police directly on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 1903 of 12/07/2025. Alternatively, details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
