Family pay tribute to 'caring and kind' son who died following collision in Bredbury

A 23-year-old man has died following a collision on Lower Bents Lane in Bredbury.

In an incident on Friday 20 June around 10.20pm, Joel Sheldon was walking along Lower Bents Lane when a car collided with him.

He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital - despite the best efforts of emergency services, he passed away from his injuries on Saturday 21 June.

Joel's family have since paid tribute to their son.

"Our beautiful son Joel was caring, kind, and loved by everyone that knew him", they said.

"He smiled constantly and loved life. His energy was infectious and the outpouring of love for him has made us so immensely proud. We will love him and miss him for the rest of our lives."  

Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any information which may help.

This includes dashcam / doorbell camera footage, eye witness accounts, and any other information which might be useful.
