If a flagship new art installation at the Armoury roundabout wasn't enough, there are even more cultural spectacles to enjoy in Edgeley this weekend.
On Saturday 9 March, a family fun day will take place on Castle Street from 11am-2pm. This Town of Culture event will constitute a 'day of play' for young residents in Edgeley and beyond.
Included in the itinerary is a street disco, giant chalk for some friendly graffiti, a googly-eye walking tour, and a range of street games (including hopscotch, ring toss, and more).
And this is only half of the equation - the fun continues on Sunday 10 March, with child-friendly 'open mic' speakers, seed-bombing workshops, and more.
Proceedings on Sunday will also run from 11am-2pm.
Councillor Frankie Singleton, Cabinet Member for Communities, Culture & Sport at Stockport Council, said: "This two-day event in Edgeley promises to be amazing fun for all the family, especially as it coincides with Mother's Day.
"It's also a great chance for the children of the area to have a say on helping shape the place they live in and make it an even better place to grow up in.
"It will also be an opportunity for everyone to see the new Stockport County mural at the end of Castle Street. It looks absolutely brilliant, so a huge thank you to everyone involved."
