The construction of Stepping Hill Hospital's new outpatients centre has officially begun.

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust revealed a first glimpse of what the new £24.3 million building, which is projected to be open by summer 2025, will look like.

The new centre will comprise a 55-room new facility, replacing the hospital's 'Outpatients B' building, at the northern area of the site, which was closed down in November 2023.

The trust has described the new building as a modern site where patients and their families can expect to receive a high quality of care with new state-of-the-art facilities.

Hospital services which have been temporarily relocated due to the closure of the old centre will return to Stepping Hill Hospital's main site, once the new centre is opened.

Karen James OBE, Chief Executive for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said:  "We are very much looking forward to having our outpatients services being provided from this new and greatly improved building."
