Construction of new Cheadle College campus reaches key milestone
Construction work on a new campus at Cheadle College has reached the 'topping out' stage, in a key milestone.
It means that the 'structural' phase of the building is complete.
A celebration ceremony was held on 25 November, featuring representatives from the college, Stockport Council, and contractor Wilmott Dixon.
The new campus will provide new buildings and facilities for Cheadle College. Once complete, all Cheadle College services will move to the new campus.
The new college buildings will include laboratories, T Level facilities, and specialist facilities for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
The new campus is due for completion in Summer 2025.
The construction of the building itself has also served as an opportunity for education. Not only has it provided 30 weeks of T Level placements, but it has also provided some experience for photography students, who have captured the growth of the new buildings.
James Scott, Principal and CEO of The Trafford and Stockport College Group, of which Cheadle College is part, said: "Our new campus will provide a transformative educational environment that inspires students, supports innovative teaching methods, and equips learners with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their future careers."
