A property at Pembroke House in Edgeley has been closed following reports of severe anti-social behaviour.

Stockport Homes worked alongside Stockport Council and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to secure the order, which was authorised at Stockport Magistrates' Court on 2 July.

A closure order prevents anybody from living in the property for three months.

As reported in Marketing Stockport, "[the] action follows ongoing anti-social behaviour at the property, which has significantly impacted local residents and the community".

Chief Inspector John Picton of GMP said police "are committed to support residents that report anti-social behaviour".

"[GMP] will take a firm stance on those who breach regulations and cause distress to other resident", he added.

Jenny Osbourne of Stockport Homes said: "Every resident deserves to feel safe and secure in their homes. That's why we continue to close properties in collaboration with Greater Manchester Police to combat all forms of anti-social behaviour.

"This closure order will provide our residents with much-needed respite and demonstrate our unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure community."
