A 45-year-old woman from Bredbury has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

It follows reports of dangerous driving in Wilmslow, whereby a young girl was involved in a near miss with a white BMW.

The incident is reported to have taken place around 4.45pm on Sunday 10 May.

Officers were on patrol on Church Street when they were flagged by a man who told them his daughter had just had the near miss.

The man said that the driver had popped her tyre on the kerb before driving off from the scene and into Carrs Park.

Officers quickly left the scene to search for the vehicle - they found it in Carrs Park and arrested the driver, the 45-year-old from Bredbury.

The woman has since been released under investigation.

Cheshire Police are now appealing for anybody with other information about the incident to come forward.

They are also looking to trace the man who flagged the officers down, as they believe he may hold vital evidence.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or at www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML 2326094.
