A police bomb squad was called to a street in Heald Green following the discovery of hazardous chemicals.
On Friday 16 October, officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) carried out a warrant at an address on Brown Lane.
Unspecified 'hazardous chemicals' were discovered, and a man in his 40s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing hazardous chemicals.
Emergency services - including GMP and Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service - maintained a presence at the scene throughout the weekend, until the cordon was finally cleared around 4.30pm on Sunday 18 October.
Residents living in the area were escorted to and from their homes by emergency services, but were assured by local councillors and police that there was no risk to the wider community.
The cordon has now been removed from Brown Lane and the road is now re-open, Manchester Evening News reports.
