Arrest made and bikes seized as part of anti-social behaviour crackdown in Stockport

A man has been arrested and three bikes have been seized as part of an anti-social behaviour (ASB) crackdown in Stockport.
Greater Manchester Police have been targeting areas that have high numbers of ASB reports as part of 'Operation Hurricane' - an effort to "deal with those who cause danger and misery people using the region's roads and open spaces".
The arrest was of a man in his 40s for failing to appear at court. He has been remanded.
Police also carried out four stop and searches in what was the first week of Operation Hurricane in Stockport.
Chief Inspector Clare Ryle said: "We understand the concern of our communities across Stockport in relation to the use of off-road and e-bikes.
"Many people feel threatened and intimidated by young people on these bikes, particularly when they wear hoods and other face coverings. It is also exceptionally dangerous for those young people and anyone they may encounter.
"As such, we are committed to doing all we can to reduce the numbers of bikes on our streets […].
"The message is clear – do not ride bikes in an anti-social manner around Stockport. We will act and you can expect your bike to be seized, and an appearance in court."
