Alternative store to return soon to Merseyway's Pop Up Shop

By Alasdair Perry 3rd Jan 2025

An alternative store will make a welcome return to the Pop-Up shop in the Merseyway shopping centre soon.

From 20 January to 2 February, the 'Stockport Alternative Market' will set up in the Pop-Up shop, which is next to Waterstones.

It will stock art, gifts, cards, collectibles, accessories, and more, all with a 'nerdy' and 'goth' theme. And it's one of the few places in Stockport where you're likely to hear System of a Down!

Regulars of Stockport's alternative markets will know what to expect, as this store is staffed by the same team and sells items from the same traders.

You can very much find your scene here - indulge your interests, find your niche, and pick up some cool items while you're there.

And that's not all - if you're still looking for alternative treats a little earlier, you can catch a temporary alternative market at Bask on 19 January, from 11am to 4pm. It's free entry, and will feature 12 unique stalls, plus food and drink from the bar.
