A local disability charity has raised almost £23,000 as part of a fundraising golf day.

Supportability, based in Heaton Moor, garnered £22,944 at the event which was hosted at Heaton Moor golf course.

20 teams took part, enjoying a round of golf in the sunshine. As well as prizes for golfing prowess, lucky visitors also took home some top prizes in a raffle (including rare football memorabilia and some glamorous trips away).

Funds were raised through the raffle, through donations, entry fees, and business sponsors.

Supportability's motto is: "Making life better for people with disabilities." The charity offers different kinds of support for adults and children alike who are living with a disability.

Geraint Hughes, the charity's CEO, said: “We’re really grateful to our sponsors and supporters for their donations this year. Each year we are fortunate to have the continued support of the business community in Stockport and the surrounding areas.

"Without their generosity, our annual golf day would not be the success it is. The structure of the event is unique in that we ensure inclusivity so that those who benefit from our service offers are truly engaged on the day whilst also giving our supporters the opportunity to meet, interact and see first-hand those that their generosity benefits.”
