Adswood Young People's Centre is closed due to a building safety issue.

The centre has been secured while Stockport Council and Autisk - the charity which uses the building - look at next steps.

In the meantime, the council is looking for a temporary space for Autisk so that the support it provides remains accessible.

A joint statement from Autisk, Stockport Council and Parents and Carers Together Stockport reads: "The safety of children, families and staff has to come first, and the building has now been secured while we look at what needs to happen next.

"We know this will be really disappointing and worrying for children and families who rely on the centre, and we're very sorry for the disruption this causes."
