The A555 will face some partial and full closures over the coming weeks.

From Monday 13 January to Thursday 16th at 6am, there will be partial lane closures both westbound and eastbound along the Manchester East Airport Link.

Furthermore, there will be a complete closure of the A555 overnight from 10pm on Monday 20 January until 5am on January 21st.

It's part of repair works to a bridge that crosses the railway line between Wilmslow Road and the A34. The closures and diversions are in place so the teams can work safely.

According to traffic monitoring site one.network, there will be a diversion in place running from Earl Road to Wilmslow Road, along the B5094. This is from the 13th to the 16th.

The works come not long after the A555 was forced to close entirely due to flooding.

Stockport Council said on social media: "There may be delays, but unfortunately, we couldn't do this work during the recent A555 closures."
