Thirty-nine warm spaces will be open across Stockport throughout winter, the council has confirmed.

The warm spaces are centres where visitors can drop in for free and relax - they can also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, hot meals, and drinks.

All of Stockport borough's libraries serve as warm spaces, plus a range of other locations such as churches and other community spaces.

You can find a full rundown of locations - and the services they offer - here.

Councillor Frankie Singleton, cabinet member at Stockport Council, said she was 'really pleased' to see the warm spaces scheme back this year.

"It's amazing to see so many local community groups getting involved", Cllr Singleton said. "The dedication and time that volunteers and staff put into making these spaces welcoming and supportive is incredible — thank you to everyone who plays a part in making this happen.

"We know winter can be tough, especially for our older residents, and we want to be there for them every step of the way. Whether it's a hot drink, a warm meal, or just a friendly face, our warm spaces and the new Pensioner Assist Network are here to help keep Stockport warm and connected this winter."
