Stockport can boast a number of superlatives when it comes to the rest of the North West - one of the more unusual of these is 'largest pet photography studio'.

Joanne Photography, based in Goyt Mill, Marple, is the holder of this current accolade. Here, photographer Joanne Thibodeau offers a range of photography services to capture your pets looking as precious as they (undoubtedly) are. 

The process begins when visitors bring their pets to the dedicated studio at historic Goyt Mill, replete with top-quality equipment and a cornucopia of props. 

With years of photography experience, Joanne can capture even the most elusive or impatient of pets, and bring out their qualities. 

Visitors then choose their favourite pictures from the shoot in a dedicated viewing room.

Joanne's husband Steve, who also works at the studio, explained what visitors can expect: "Our focus is on the whole experience", he said. "It is geared more towards people buying wall art rather than digital. 

"The phone call is where the journey starts. Our team will learn all about the person's pet, how the pet fits into their lives, the emotional attachment…

"The client THEN comes to the studio with their pet and has a session.

"After that, they sit down and watch on the big screen - sometimes they cry, which is why we have tissues! 

"They chat about what they want, and they will choose one of our lovely samples.

"The journey ends when we have their selections made into wall art and delivered here to the studio."
