Stockport local launches new alcohol-free beer discovery platform
By Rebecca Devonshire-Pay 30th Apr 2026
A Stockport Local has launched a new platform to help people find alcohol free beer.
Unhopped is an app and website targeted at people who want to experience the taste and variety of craft beer without the alcohol.
The site brings together low- and alcohol-free beers from a range of breweries and helps users compare options and discover new choices beyond the usual options.
Rich, the founder of Unhopped, said: "There are now some genuinely brilliant alcohol-free beers out there, but discovery is still quite fragmented.
"Unless you already know the breweries or follow the right account, it can be hard to know what to try.
"Unhopped is about making that easier."
The idea came when Rich noticed that the alcohol-free market had improved, but finding reliable information on the drinks was difficult.
The platform also includes a free alcohol-free beer calorie calculator.
"This isn't really about giving beer up," said Rich.
"It's about giving people better choice.
"A lot of alcohol-free beer has moved well beyond the old reputation of being thin or bland, and I wanted to build something that reflects that."
The platform is aimed at anyone who still enjoys the ritual and flavour of beer without necessarily wanting the alcohol.
