Dog show to feature at this month’s Reddish Worker Bee Market

Saturday 25 May will see the welcome return of Worker Bee Markets to Broadstone Mill, Reddish - but with a special twist this time.

As well as the usual array of quality local traders and makers, this weekend's market will also feature a dog show run by Makants Greyhound Rescue Charity, from 11.30am-2pm. 

Visitors are invited to bring their furry friends and enter them in any of the following categories: 

  • Prettiest Girl
  • Most Handsome Boy
  • Best Rescue
  • Dog judge would like to take home
  • Waggiest Tail
  • Cutest Puppy (under 12 months of age)

Registration takes place on the day from 11am. Entry costs just £2 per dog per category. 

Further still, rounding off the show is a Best in Show Award, judged at 2pm.

And, as usual, you'll be able to find visitors can expect 50 stallholders, purveying everything from paintings to pancakes.

Speaking recently on the ethos behind Worker Bee Markets, founder Clare Simpson said: "For me it's about trying to give a platform to talented makers.

"Whether they make food, or whether they paint, or knit - whatever it is they do, it's about trying to give as many different people as possible a way to showcase their goods and make some money."
