A car dealership in Stockport is helping people with disabilities to stay mobile and independent with an important scheme.
Swansway's Motabilitiy scheme is backed by the government, and offers a wide range of leasing options for adapted cars, wheelchairs and scooters.
Motability specialists Emma Knott and Sophie Liddiard explained a bit more about it.
"The Motability scheme gives customers freedom and independence", Sophie said. "Unfortunately, some of our customers have their freedom limited but the scheme provides them with opportunities to travel stress-free which is very valuable."
Emma added: "I think the way the scheme removes stress for customers and their carers is valuable.
"Everything from insurance, to tax, to MOT is looked after. It's just add fuel and off you go."
Both singled out the Honda e:Ny1 and the Honda HR-V as some of their favourite vehicle offers on the current scheme.
And with years of experience between them, Emma and Sophie can help customers get on the road, whether it's in either of the above motors or in something different.
And for those unsure about how or when to start on the Motability scheme, the experts were emphatic; 'just go for it'!
As Emma says: "Come in and see us! We're well versed with the scheme and can answer any questions you have. Whether it's walking into our showroom or enquiring online or on the phone, we'll be sure to help.
Sophie adds: "You'll enjoy worry-free driving and only pay for fuel or electricity. Motability are easy to talk to If you've got questions and are very accommodating."
If you would like to learn more about Honda vehicles on the Motability scheme, you can contact Honda Stockport on 0161 825 0238 or visit the Swansway website.
To be eligible for the Motability Scheme, you must receive a qualifying mobility allowance, such as the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). If you meet these criteria, you can lease a vehicle or wheelchair through the Scheme for three years, before returning it for a replacement.
